LASTING

Today we started hand-lasting our first practice shoe. Here's a run through of whats going on in each of the images:

1. Pulling the leather lining over the sole and securing it with tacks.
2. Completion of pulling the lining.
3. + 4. Tacks have been removed from lining and lining has been adhered to sole, a toe stiffener has also been put in.

I wonder if they'll fit once they're done... I'm pretty excited :)

HEY MARGE

Completely thanks to a YOOX sale, I managed to be able to get these delicious Maison Martin Margiela beasts.

The half nude mesh, half weird metallic leather.
And the cork. I really like the cork.

SLOW AND STEADY

I think I've come across this brand before, but it's only really stuck with me now. I really like the idea behind it. The sort of do plain versions of basic clothes/shoes/bags. Awesome things end up happening. Like LEATHER T-SHIRTS. Yeah. PRETTY amazing. I'm quite fond of the shoes too.

On their page there you'll also find some interesting online shops under their online stockists. Oh and everything is pretty much $100US. That's alluring.

D.U. #4

This isn't really much of a dress up but, this is my new leather jacket. It's the first one I've ever owned. This outfit is what I've been wearing all the time lately, black singlet black bike shorts, black gladiator sandals and this jacket.

The jacket is by Australian brand Tigerlily. I love how the front is cut and the raw edges are left raw, and then it sort of hangs. It's amazing. And the inner front bit is suede so it shows there on the hanging collar part. The underside of the sleeves are made from a stretchy fabric which is awesome because that makes it heaps easier to push up the sleeves if need be. And the cut of the bottom edge is high at the back and then lengthens at the front, as you can see.

BACKPACK

Here's a little backpack I found on Amazon. It's only $10US! Just get some studs off ebay and you're set! Real leather too. There are many more different styles under the $20US mark.
