FLUSTERED + JEAN COLONNA

These are some images from i-D magazine, The Emotion Issue No 225, 2002, pages 65-66.
(Photog: Marcus Tomlinson, Makeup: Eli Wakamatsu, Styling : Hortense Manga, Hair: Peter Gray)

The makeup in these shots I find quite interesting. As the theme of the issue suggests, the images do convey a sense of emotion/feeling. To me the models look flustered, with the hair swept away from their faces in such furious gusto, the skin an uneven tone with white haphazardly smudged across their face and their eyes accented with light peachy pinks.

The clothing is also worth a mention, with a dress by Hussein Chalayan and a dress by Jean Colonna. I had not heard of Jean Colonna before, I had a look on the net and the only shows I can find are Spring 2000 and Fall 2000. The Fall 2000 collection I think is definitely still quite relevant today.

90s PART 1

Here are some pictures from a magazine called FACE, it doesn't exist anymore because they got sued by Jason Donovan a while back I think. But I managed to get my hands on some old copies from 1995 and 1996 and it is VERY much like i-D magazine, even the font is the same.

This image amuses me because if this guy's haircut mostly, but his whole look I guess too. It's a very jocky look that there is heaps of around at the moment.

I just thought this was an interesting way to feature jewellery.

A random page. Pretty odd.

In terms of fashion, this is very close to what we have happening now. All the mesh and black.

Again, very similar to now. The wet look leggings that were quite popular a few months ago, the cropped lace top which is very much what is being worn now.

And here too. Mesh top, bra/bustier thingy and leather jacket, all in at the moment. I think silver is used more than gold now though.

Guy on the right, those glasses are making the hugest comeback right now. And so are the puffy jackets.

I just like this image.

And this one too. Making fun of tans and fake tans. I suppose. But I think the top is ok too.

D.U. #3 / ARRIVAL

My white KTZ Puffer Platforms arrived!!! I nearly exploded when I opened the box. Here's a silly little white on white outfit I put together especially for the shoes. I'm extremely fond of the long sleeve tshirt, it's a vintage i-D one with the print done by John Richmond, they're crucifixes with i-D covers in them and then at the bottom it says "Hard core religion to a dance beat." pretty awesome.

Sunglasses - Chloe
Jeans - Highwaisted jeans by Lee
Top - Vintage i-D tshirt
Shoes - KTZ puffer platform

i-D TSHIRT

My lovely bf recently found this amongst his no longer worn clothes and gave it to me. I think it's AWESOME. It's probably nearly as old as I am. At least half my age.
