FLUSTERED + JEAN COLONNA

These are some images from i-D magazine, The Emotion Issue No 225, 2002, pages 65-66.

The makeup in these shots I find quite interesting. As the theme of the issue suggests, the images do convey a sense of emotion/feeling. To me the models look flustered, with the hair swept away from their faces in such furious gusto, the skin an uneven tone with white haphazardly smudged across their face and their eyes accented with light peachy pinks.

The clothing is also worth a mention, with a dress by Hussein Chalayan and a dress by Jean Colonna. I had not heard of Jean Colonna before, I had a look on the net and the only shows I can find are Spring 2000 and Fall 2000. The Fall 2000 collection I think is definitely still quite relevant today.

BLACK EYES

I made an attempt to copy this eye make-up... My angles are a bit different but yknowwww

WAR PAINT

Some of the stuff I use on a regular basis.

1. SHU UEMURA - face architect remodeling cream foundation. this foundation has lasted me forever, because you only need the tiniest little bit to cover even your whole face.

2. LANCOME - color fever lipstick 388. This is the cutest shade, and it doesnt stand out too much either.

3. SHU UEMURA - false eyelashes, black velvet feather. I bought these while in Japan and they are amazing. I know there's a lot of people out there that are strongly against fake eyelashes but when worn with the right outfit theyre great. Especially these, they're so thick. Mmm.

4. SMASHBOX - brow tech, soft brown. This is half powder and half brow styling wax. VERY convenient and the colour matches my brows perfectly.

5. SEPHORA - no. 10 brow brush. It's just a nice angled brush.

6.YVES SAINT LAURENT - radiant touch no.2. This is the most amazing product I own. It's a concealer for dark areas (not red, thats the no. 1) but its not thick, when you put it on it feels like nothing. ACTUALLY like nothing.

7. MYSTIC LIPS - lip balm. This is a bit tingly. And fabulous.

8. REVLON - 3D extreme mascara. I have owned so many different types of mascara it's ridiculous. I'm sticking with this revlon one at the moment. It's easy to get off and with a few strokes my lashes are literally transformed from little piddly pubes on my eyes, to thick majestic strands of black glamour.

9. KIT - lip sheen. This is slightly minty and tastes quite nice. I'm fond of nice tasting lip stuff. It also lives up to its moisturising claims.
