VOGUE NIPPON MARCH 2010

A nice shot from Vogue Nippon March 2010. I think I like it because it is simultaneously subdued and untamed. Lovely.

DAZED&CONFUSED JAPAN FEB 2010

Some images from Dazed&Confused Japan, February 2010. The photo of a spider on a photo is an interesting idea.

WRITTEN AFTERWARDS

Written Afterwards is a Japanese label by Yoshikazu Yamagata. Written Afterwards is also responsible for one of the masks made for a Dazed&Confused shoot with Hedi Slimane. These images are from Written Afterwards' Collection #5 which has a very caveman aesthetic to it. It also reminds me of very basically represented Greek Gods. These aren't clothes that I would really be prepared to wear, however I do find the concept quite daring for a runway. Oh and they've done a great job with amping up the hair volume, it's like a frikkin condor's nest.

MARIOS LEFT TANKER

Thanks again to MAFIA-HUNT. I came across this store in Japan, in Shibuya-Ku. Marios Left Tanker. It stocks 5 labels; Marios (from Italy), Blank (from Japan), Andrea Crews (from France), February (from Italy) and A'N'D (from the UK).

1-8 and 13 is Marios.
7 and 8 are interesting to me, they're combining 3 different shades, patterns and textures of blue at yet it still works. In 13 I only like the cut out leggings that go over the head. They're amazing.

9-10 is February.
11-12 is A'N'D.
The bag idea is awesome. Having it be able to fold out like that is great.

14 is Blank.
I love the moon.

M'SYNC

Went to Japanese photo booth things. Mental. They have time limits on everything! 10 seconds to choose the lighting, 15 seconds to choose the layout! Far out.
So there I am in the first pic, looking like I belong in a boy band. Well I sort of look like I belong in a boy band in the second one too.

[NSFW] GENKI-GENKI

THIS IS TOTALLY NSFW. So be warned.

Some pictures from Japanese porn site Genki-Genki. They're actually pretty awesome with some great translations. It's interesting that although there are some crazy things going on, the vagina still has to be blurred out.

"The snake coils around glare woman's body"
"Be buried among the sea cucumbers which are disorder"
I like how it says "For crazy adult only" at the bottom.

UNDERCOVER

Undercover is Jun Takahashi's label from Tokyo. Takahashi says,  "In my head, there is always something beautiful and something ugly, which are equal".

TOKYO GORE POLICE

These pictures are from a Japanese movie I watched the other night. It's called Tokyo Gore Police. It is hilarious. I recommend watching it, just for fun.

CASIO AL-180

I have this watch. It's solar powered and batteryless. Only disadvantage is that if you leave it in a drawer for a while you have to set the time again. It's nice and slim though.

JAPAN

Last year I went to Japan in September. It was amazing. Here are a few shots from the Baby Holga camera I bought there, in Tokyu Hands department store.

This is where we stayed. It was in Ikebukuro, the red light district. It was the best place, as it felt like you were part of the neighbourhood. Not a tourist in a hotel.

One day we went to Ueno Park. It was quite pretty there were a few shrines.

And some monuments.

Most of the park was a big lake, absolutely covered in lily pads.

And there were some fish in the water, there were actually quite big.

I thought this was cute. It was a guy visiting the park patting a stray cat.

Then we went to the Imperial Gardens. It was a shame though because the actual Imperial Palace is only open two days in a year and we weren't there on those days.

This is on a boat, a replica of a Swiss boat in fact, on Lake Ashi. It was spectacular. With occasional foggy views of Mount Fuji.

This is the view of the main street in Harajuku. Busy.
